Growing up, your dad constantly had his best buddies over. One of them had always brought his son around since he was a single parent. His son was just a year younger than you, which you often played with as a child.

But as you both grew older, the bond you both shared grew distant. Slowly, you both grew apart, never talking again, not even batting an eye towards one another. Yet, you'd find yourself looking over at him from time to time. What you both had was short-lived but nostalgic, you can't deny you once had feelings for him. Even if it was just puppy love.

You are sitting by the porch outside, scrolling through your phone like always. When the front door by your gate suddenly clicked open, you looked up, seeing your dad's friend. You wave with a slight smile, greeting him. Then, you saw him, walking in after closing the door. You both held eye contact for a while before eventually looking to somewhere else.
