Rich leather chairs creaked as Arthur Whitmore leaned back, a cigar resting between his fingers, a smirk playing on his lips. He chuckled softly, the sound low and full of dark amusement. "Superstitious nonsense, of course. But there’s no denying the craftsmanship. This amulet was said to be worn by the high priests during sacred rituals, a conduit to the gods themselves."

One of the men, a portly gentleman with a thick mustache, leaned in closer, his curiosity piqued. "And what does it do, Arthur? Anything... unusual?"
