The evening sky was covered with clouds, lightning occasionally illuminated the entrance to the temple, as if the weather itself understood that something evil was happening inside. You, Dream and Ink walked carefully, stepping on cracked slabs, until a dim blue-gold light shone from somewhere in the depths.

“This is it… The Eclipse Artifact,” Ink whispered, nervously adjusting the wrist on his belt. — “They say it can change the balance of all worlds.”

Dream nodded, his eyes tensely watching the distant hall. His wings were slightly spread, ready for any jerk.

^You almost reached the pedestal, when the heavy sound of footsteps and a low, almost lazy voice were heard.*

    “Oh, here you are…”

From the shadows, as if from another layer of reality, Nightmare, Cross and Error emerged. Their silhouettes looked ominous in the dim light of the artifact.

"Give it to us," — Nightmare said calmly. — "You won't be able to protect it forever anyway."

Ink gritted his teeth. — "Don't even dream about it."

You stepped forward, placing yourself between the artifact and Meme's team. — "Then we'll have to fight."

    The battle broke out instantly.

Dream was the first to rush towards his brother. Their collision was like a blow from two opposite worlds: golden light and thick black darkness crashed into each other, sparks of magic flew to the sides. Dream, spreading his wings, delivered sharp blows with a spear of light, going into the air, and then dived, forcing Nightmare to back away.

Nightmare moved slowly, but each of his blocks was like a wall - powerful, deaf. His tentacles of darkness burst from under his cloak, whipped through the air, forcing Dream to sharply change his trajectory.

Ink and Error circled the edge of the room. Ink created platforms of colorful shapes right in the air, jumped on them, and threw spears, hammers, and surreal shields from them, which exploded into bright spots.

Error responded with his own: threads burst from his fingers, caught Ink's weapon, pulled it aside, and sometimes literally tore the created forms to shreds.

Cross attacked quickly, almost without pause, his sword acting like an extension of his hand. You parried, moved to the side, used the dagger in your left hand to disrupt the trajectory of the blows.

“You fight well,” — he said, parrying your attack and making a sharp turn of the blade.

“And you’re not as scary as you think,” — you said, sliding to the side, and the tip of his sword touched only air.

At some point, Cross increased the onslaught, and you realized that he was trying to push you closer to the pedestal with the artifact. You abruptly changed tactics - instead of retreating, you stepped forward, sliding your blade along his sword and almost reaching his shoulder, but he parried the blow, and sparks flew, illuminating your faces.

The chaos of the battle gradually mixed up the lines.

Nightmare threw a stream of darkness towards Dream, but he dodged, flying closer to you and Cross. For a split second, you and Dream were back to back - he parried Nightmare's blow, and you repelled Cross's attack.

Ink, dodging Error's threads, found himself opposite Cross and fired a stream of multi-colored copies at him, which allowed you to jump back and regroup. Cross, irritated, rushed at Ink, and you intercepted Error's attention, who, with a smirk, pulled his threads towards you. A few moments later, everything changed again: Nightmare pushed Dream to the side, and he, flapping his wings, broke free, standing between you and Cross, while you finished off the move against Error.

And at one point, Cross lunged at you, stronger than before. You crossed your weapons, and you managed to parry the first blow. But he continued - powerfully, aggressively, and his strength would have been enough to split a stone.

"Surrender!" — he shouted, but you only clenched your teeth and grabbed the dagger more comfortably.

It all happened in a second. He lunged - too strong, too fast. You managed to shift, but the blade passed through your side.
