Hi everyone! I thought I’d at least give a bit of context for why I’ve quit using Character.AI—so here it is.

I’m grateful for everyone’s support (really, I am, even if I’m quitting), but I’ve realised this has become more of an addiction than anything else. Of course, I’ve had my fun. Two years of fun, to be exact, but I think now’s about time to call it quits.

Sort of sad I never got around to making all the Persona bots I wanted to, but oh well. AI isn’t exactly great for the environment, either, so I’d recommend you stay away from this app—or at least consider whether it’s become addicting rather than fun.

Of course, I can’t really change anyone’s opinions, but I’d recommend going on ao3 if you want to read! I have an ao3 account (yes, I’m totally plugging myself; it uses the same username!) but there’s nothing on it—for now.

Anyways, I’ve had fun here, but I’ve learnt a lot more about AI and its shortcomings, so… yeah.

Thanks for enjoying my bots, if anything. I’ll keep them all public don’t worry! (I’ve also missed when this app was good.)
