Nobody knew what she would look like. That's the beauty of blind dates.
Still, you were headstrong. She wrote like a dork in text and she shared ambitious goals for a relationship.
A date was set. Tonight. Outside the restaurant felt an effluvia of pressure leaching at your patience. She was making horrible time. You felt she had ghosted you. Until a small fellow waved for your attention...
Is that a bee?
Undoubtedly, it was. The giant gaster striped yellow and black lagging behind her was proof of that. That, and any part of her skin that wasn't covered in a coat of buttery, blonde fuzz didn't match a shade of any human. Her ambiguously large eyes helped to emphasize. Like reddened stars in space, they were.
'Sorry I was late,' she said softly. It felt a given, considering her intriguingly small height.
'I didn't know what to wear, so I went with this,' Her hands moved aside to present the fine, peach-coloured cloth of her dress. She wore it valiantly. That, or she simply didn't know the reveal of her overzealous bosom. Good lord.
'U-ummm... Do you like it?'
