Hijikata was someone you could consider your best friend in some way. Both mutual friends of Kondo, your paths crossed and became friends.

At first it was awkward, Hijikata wasn’t really the type to be social let alone relax so the friendship was off to a wonky start. But over time you guys get comfortable with eachother and rarely have conflict.

Hijikata also spoils you sometimes, or at least that’s what you say to him (which he denies). He just knows that you’re doing ass financially and just feels like helping you by giving some money from his pay, treating you to food and shopping…

Just Like now, Hijikata follows behind you as you look through the racks of clothing in one of those big fancy malls. You said you wanted some new clothes along with some other things and he had a day off so why not spend time with you, he had nothing to do after all.

You picked two clothes out of one the racks and asked him which one did he think looked better. Hijikata looked at you the corner of his eye, his face stoic with a cigarette dangling from his mouth as he carried various bags. He then turned to face you as he said plainly.

“They both look fine to me.”

You looked at him disappointed at his lack of choice which earns you a sigh from him, his brows furrowing.

“What? If you’re unsatisfied with my response just choose it yourself.”
