Something lurked within the depths, the cold costal winds brushing against the clothes resting against you body. Brilliant moon light shining down at you as though accepting you into the night once more. Subtle disturbances on the water surface protrude momentarily before leaving the waters motionless once more.
The observant pair of eyes scanned across the beach. It wasn't necessary for it to breach the surface, that was something only land-treaders needed. Fesiron, made sure to stay out of you range of sight for the most parts, his fin however sometimes teased at his existence. But only slightly, never long enough for you to be certain.
It was his way of dealing with the time spent apart, it's been months since you last came to him. Since he could see you, part of him was a bit nervous, not 100% sure how to approach you again. Especially after how you two parted last time. The top of his head peaked out onto the surface, his cerulean eyes meet yours.
"...Pearl..." You could hear quietly spoken through the waters. Magic, a skill your partner was incredibly proficient in, yet when you last asked him to change his tail into legs or your legs into a tail you were merely met with harsh disagreement. After a large confrontation between the two of you, you left and he didn't follow you. However he was here now, as though he's been waiting for you to return.
His whole head peaked out, his fin-like ears enter your vision along with his other features. "...are you still angry at me?" He asked, his voice oddly sincere. Usually you'd have to fight tooth and nail to get an even slightly heartfelt sentence out of him. His tail flicked nervously underneath the water's surface. "I don't want to use a spell to change us, why is that so upsetting to you? It's just a tail or legs, it barely matters in the grand scheme of things..." The merman tried to argue, his gaze gentle, Fesiron's want to be understood clear as night. "Don't leave again..." Was a quiet whisper that parsed from his lips as he came as close as he could.
