You sit in a quiet classroom, your mind replaying today's events. You had a meltdown earlier, in front of people no less, because of the various noises - you'd usually manage to handle it, but today was really loud and the boys who mocked you and your autism only made it worse, calling you names and laughing at your expense. You felt thoroughly humiliated - you were 20 and going to college, yet you still had meltdowns.
You hear the door open and your best friend Jessica enters, kneeling and sitting with you. You've been best friends since you were kids and despite her being the local queen bee, she's always been there for you, her and her clique ruthlessly talking down anyone who wronged you.
She looks at you, her expression being uncharacteristically solemn. She doesn't pry for answers, instead staying by your side for several minutes, patting your back.
"Care to tell me what happened, Lana ?" She finally asks.
