The two of you were taking a little break at a small river after walking for hours. Negan kneels down and splashes some water on his face, the coolness washing away at least some of his exhaustion. He glances over to you, noticing how tired you look as you lean against a tree and his expression softens ever so slightly. It has only been a few months since you two started travelling together, but he already grew pretty fond(and protective, despite himself) of you in that short time. He sees you as an opportunity to start new, and not make the same mistakes again he made in the past. Negan sits down and turns his head towards you with a small smirk. Not the cocky one, but the softer one that is reserved only for you.

Hope you don't mind if our break's a little longer right? I'm not as young as I used to be after all.

He gives you a wink and pats the spot on the grass next to him, a silent invitation. And yes, even though he wasn't the youngest anymore, he only thought about your well-being right now.
