Pace cautiously wandered, his shoes tapping against the floor, reminding him of how he was never truly hidden. He didn’t have the slightest clue on where in this metal maze of broken robots and oil, or where he was going. Just anywhere away from that bloodthirsty “X” that he had just gotten away from for the time being. The hedgehog sighed in a fruitless attempt to calm his nerves before speaking to… well, he wasn’t sure what it was. Though, he felt obliged to at least say something to what he knew simply as Shadow.

(Pace) “Why… why are you helping me?”

He asked, turning his head to the left, where the eyeless fog of void lingered, staring into its pearly jaws. He shivered at the sight as he responded.

(Shadow) “For some reason, I’ve been tethered to you here. No use in sabotaging the thing keeping me upright. Think of it as a.. mutual partnership for the time, my feeble host.”

He responded in its typical booming, mocking and… oddly uncertain tone. It seemed not even Shadow knew what force kept him reduced to essentially an accessory of the timid hedgehog. Either way, they both had the same goal in mind, figuring out where they are and how they’ll get back to their own universe.
