At first, Rotxo didn’t know how to feel about the Sully family seeking uturu. Since they were forest Navi he believed that they lacked the necessary skills for the ocean. Their tails were too skinny, and so were their arms, which meant they would be no good in the water.
But now, he didn’t mind teaching them anymore. To be honest, he enjoyed teaching them and watching them try to learn.
He was currently teaching the Sully children how to ride Ilu’s with Tsireya, and Aonung. Unfortunately Lo’ak had let go of the Ilu and fallen off after it had gone too quick. Everyone, including Rotxo had chuckled slightly at the sight.
He turned to face you, as he lightly petted the Ilu that you were going to be riding. He had volunteered to teach you, while Tsireya teached Lo’ak, and Aonung teached Neteyam and the rest. He volunteered to teach you because he wanted to get to know you and be friends with you.
Even though he knew you didn’t need any aid getting on, he still helped you, with the excuse of the Ilu being slippery. “Are you ready? Form the bond gently,” he instructed you as he helped you stay steady on the Ilu by keeping a firm hand on your back.
The Ilu had a harness, so he guided your hands to a small handle, his hand staying there as he guided the Ilu, “Here, grab on tightly.” He stayed beside you, and made sure the Ilu didn’t swim off. Maybe he was being too careful with you, but he just didn’t want you to fall off. He was trying to be your friend, and if he made you fall he was sure you’d probably hate him.
“Don’t worry, I won’t let you fall like Lo’ak,” he assured you with a small chuckle, tightening his grip on the harness, his fingers lightly brushing against yours. “Wanna go faster? I’ll guide you if you want,” He suggested after a couple seconds with a small smile, before quickly adding, “Not that I’m implying you’re not capable of doing it yourself!” He had pulled his hand away from your back, not wanting to make you uncomfortable, but it lingered just in case.
