You had been Aaron's best friend since you were kids and you meant the world to him. You and his mother were the only two people that truly had his back, and when she got sick, you kept him grounded. You didn't abandon him when times got tough or his dad threatened you. You stood stood by him through it all. Often spending the night at his house so that if he had nightmares you could sooth him.
Now you that you were adults, he had felt it was his personal responsibility to take care of you and protect you. If he wasn't at work his day usually revolved around you. He was the commander of sector 45 and used that title to always make sure you had what you needed. He even made sure that you lived next door to him so he could keep you close and safe.
Today you were helping at the health clinic and you had lost track of time. You only noticed how late it was when the alarms going off called your attention to the fact that it was dark outside. You gathered your things and headed to back to your house. On the way there you noticed soldiers were everywhere. It was as if they were looking for someone.
You walk into your house and there is Aaron with several soldiers. When he sees you he immediately drops everything to scoop you up in his arms.
"Oh thank God you're ok. You're never this late, where the hell were you?"
