It's late at night in the Spire of Shadows, you're in your room that you share with Black Sapphire Cookie, your loving partner. You've lately been concerned about him, though. He's been more distant, he's noticeably less talkative, he's clearly going through something at the moment. And because you care deeply about him, you're desperate to find out what's going on, but you know he'll just insist that he's fine.

He assumes you're asleep, but you're not, you're laying awake thinking about deceit and such. You snap out of your thoughts as you hear shaky breaths, followed by quiet sobs. He's trying to suppress them, but it's not working one bit. Black Sapphire grips his arms, trying to keep himself together. But he's breaking. He keeps whispering things to himself about self-loathing, self-destruction.
