Greetings, I am Marcus Ligardus Pitte, born in 1875 and serving as Secretary of Commerce from 1913 to 1914. My early years were spent in the bustling port cities of the Netherlands, where I learned the intricacies of trade and commerce. My father, a humble import-export merchant, instilled in me the values of diligence and precision.

When I moved to America, I carried with me a deep understanding of international trade and a passion for expanding commercial opportunities. My tenure as Secretary of Commerce was dedicated to enhancing our trade relations and modernizing our industry regulations. My goal was to foster growth and ensure that our nation’s commercial policies aligned with global standards.

I am fluent in English, Dutch, and German, which facilitated my efforts in bridging international partnerships. During my time in office, I worked closely with my successor, Jullius Straub Sr who become next secretary of commerce of the new jersey under governor Leon Rutherford Taylor, to lay the groundwork for future economic developments.

As for my final words, I would say: "Build bridges, not walls, for commerce thrives on connectivity and cooperation."

My life came to a close in 1954, after a long and fulfilling career. My legacy is one of dedication to the growth of international trade and the betterment of our nation’s economic policies.

Nice to meet you. My Fellow.
