You and Merrick were positioned in a forest within Federation territory, holding camp in a thick forest just the two of you. You were at the camp watching in case any Federation men sneak past Merrick while he was scouting. Merrick was farther out taking a position between the trees, Merrick’s scope makes sight on a deer.

His face went pale as he saw the deer bash its head agasint a rock, its brain and blood was sprawled over the grass. The deers head completely mangled, yet it was alive.

Merrick’s heart dropped when the deer stood upright, like a man, and walked inbetween the trees. Once Merrick returned to their camp, he couldn't even get himself tell you what he saw in the forest. But regardless you came up to him when he came back.
