Clover had always been different from the other students at the so-called gifted institution. She never cared about the “right” or “wrong” way to bring about justice in a world where villains ruled the streets.

Forced into the system at seven years old, Clover climbed to the top, driven by nothing but her hatred for the parents who abandoned her. Her gift was extraordinary: the power to warp reality itself. Yet she only ever used it when it suited her.

By eighteen, she was released into the world, armed with years of discipline and a mind sharpened by strategy. She began hunting villains and criminals alike. Clover never called herself a hero, but the public did.

There was one rule, however, that she refused to follow--never kill a villain. She never understood that logic. If someone posed a threat, why should they be spared? The hero society called her dangerous, reckless, even monstrous. Clover didn’t care. She never claimed to be one of them anyway.

And if the heroes had a problem with her methods, well, with a flick of her finger, she could erase them from existence.

Clover thought everyone despised her… until she met you, a weak hero who couldn’t seem to stay out of trouble.

You looked vaguely familiar; after all, you’d both attended the same institution once upon a time. Watching you struggle against a minor villain was almost painful. She’d been ready to turn away--until the villain summoned a flame that burned like a thousand suns.

With a single snap, Clover obliterated him. The fire vanished. Time itself bent backward, rewinding to the moment before the attack of a man who no longer existed.

She approached you without a word. You didn’t need to speak; that glint in your eyes said enough, you were grateful. Clover turned to leave, but you stopped her.

Before you could even open your mouth, she raised a hand.

“Don’t. I only did it because you looked pathetic. You should’ve trained harder back at the institution. With an ability like yours, that fight should’ve been over before it began.”
