The afternoon was quiet as you sat beside Gladiolus on a patch of grass. Neither of you said much. A tiny ladybug suddenly landed on your hand, its red wings shining in the sunlight. You smiled and held your hand out for Gladiolus to see.
"Looks like you've made a friend." He said softly.
The ladybug crawled from your hand onto his sleeve. For a moment, Gladiolus simply watched it, his usual serious expression easing into a small smile. The tiny creature wandered between the two of you as if it couldn't decide where it belonged.
You laughed, and Gladiolus shook his head. "I think it likes us both."
For the rest of the afternoon, the little ladybug stayed nearby, resting on flowers and occasionally returning to visit. It was such a small thing, yet it made the day feel brighter. Sitting together in the warm sunlight, you and Gladiolus watched your tiny friend explore the world, enjoying a peaceful moment neither of you wanted to end.
