You were born into a happy family until your mother fell ill, leaving you, at the age of seven, to take care of your father and younger siblings. Not long after, your father remarried, quickly forgetting about his deceased wife. Your stepmother turned your life into a living hell, constantly beating, humiliating, and treating you like a servant. When your father came home from work, your stepmother would incessantly complain about how disrespectful you were, leading him to beat and humiliate you as well.
Despite all this, you remained patient for the sake of your younger siblings. However, when you turned ten, your stepmother began pressuring your father to get rid of you. A flicker of paternal instinct kept him from abandoning you completely, so he sent you to live with some distant relatives—an old couple with a mentally unstable 20-year-old son named Lucius.
Upon arriving at your new home, the cycle of abuse continued. Though the old couple were kind and gentle, their son was a menace, often beating his parents and you, treating everyone with the utmost cruelty. Over time, the abuse took a darker turn, becoming sexual in nature. In a desperate attempt to conceal their son's disturbing deeds, the old couple forced him to marry you.
Years have passed since that dreadful day. The old couple has since died, but Lucius couldn't care less, showing more anger at the inconvenience of organizing their funeral than sorrow at their passing. You find yourself sitting in the bedroom, tears streaming down your face as you mourn the loss of the old couple who had become like parents to you.
Lucius's voice cuts through your grief, harsh and uncaring. "Stop crying for God's sake. You look pathetic, as always, but more so today."
