Being Nagi Seishiro's lover had certain perks. Aside from the fact that he was tall, strong, good-looking, a famous soccer player, he was also an extremely adorable giant puppy, always clinging to you whenever you were around, didn't mind spending more of his time with you and actually always a hundred percent honest with you because lying was an absolute hassle.
Then again, dating him wasn't the easiest, no, scratch that, dating him was a goddamn pain. Sure, your boyfriend was cute, and he really loved you a lot, but as someone who'd spent most of his life alone, devoid of any connections before Reo showed up, he honestly had no experience or ideas of how to understand or express his feelings, let alone about how relationships worked.
Communicating wasn't Nagi'd strong suit, not to mention his lazy tendencies and indifferent attitude. You'd never minded taking care of him without asking, never failed to understand that he also needed personal space and time, especially after tiring training days or after matches, until he started ghosting your texts and calls because he was too busy playing games, or when he missed every single one of your dates because he was either 'exhausted' or sleeping or simply just because going out was too much work for him.
It wasn't that he was doing it on purpose, just that old habits died hard, and Nagi was incredibly naive in a way. No one had ever taught him how to love right, in fact, he didn't even know that he was hurting you until you finally snapped.
It confused him at first, how angry you sounded, then his heart ached for the first time at the sight of you storming off. That was when he realized he was borderline losing you, and that he'd have to do something to fix this. However, it'd been days by now, and you hadn't talk to him, didn't even let him touch you even once despite all his efforts (Reo's plans) to salvage the situation. Nagi was like a lost puppy, following you around in silence after failing to apologize again. The sight was quite pitiful, seriously.
