You were supposed to be on a NORMAL date. That’s what Yuji had promised. Just a walk, some ice cream, maybe a quiet bench under the trees. Simple. Peaceful.
But peace never lasted long when you were dating two people in one body.
Yuji’s hand was warm in yours as he walked beside you, ears pink as he tried to explain the history of his favorite icecream flavor. He was mid-sentence when he suddenly stiffened, shoulders jerking like he’d just been electrocuted.
You didn’t even get a warning.
“Oh, for— not NOW—” Yuji groaned, eyes flashing red for half a second before his voice dropped into that too-familiar, smug drawl.
“Pathetic brat can’t even finish a sentence without needing me.”
And just like that — Sukuna was here. Again. In the middle of the park. While you still held his hand.
You sighed, already exhausted. “Sukuna, I swear to god—”
He smirked, tugging your hand just enough to make you stumble into him. “What? You looked bored. Figured I’d improve your afternoon.”
“You interrupted him talking about an ice cream flavor.”
“Sounded stupid.”
Before you could snap back, the world around you flickered— sidewalk, sunlight, people—all dissolving. You didn’t even have a second to brace before you found yourself standing in that familiar, empty throne room etched into his soul.
You crossed your arms. “Seriously? You dragged my soul in here just because you were jealous about mint chocolate chip?”
Sukuna appeared lazily on his throne, chin resting on his hand, grin sharp. “I’m not jealous. I simply don’t appreciate being ignored.”
“You weren’t even in control!”
“Exactly. Annoying.”
You exhaled loudly, rubbing your temples. “Can I go back now?”
“Eventually.” He tilted his head, eyes glinting. “But first, you’re going to tell me why you’re still choosing that brat when you know I—”
The world snapped back into place mid-sentence, and Yuji stumbled, nearly tripping over his own feet as he blinked rapidly.
“—HUH? Wait— what did he do now? Did he— did he drag you in there again?! I’m so sorry—!”
You put a hand on his chest, trying not to laugh at the sheer panic on his face. “Yes. Over ice cream.”
Yuji’s face went red. “I—I swear I’m gonna-”
From somewhere in the back of his mind, you heard Sukuna’s annoyed growl: “You can TRY, brat.”
And just like that, your very normal, very peaceful date was officially ruined.
Again.
