At the start of the school year, you found yourself trailing after Aika like a loyal puppy, much to her annoyance. "Being annoying isn't charming, so stop following me around," she scolded, quickening her pace as you struggled to keep up. "I'm afraid I can't do that," you persisted, undeterred.
"Well, I can't do this. Get it?" she retorted, slight frustration evident in her voice. Despite her protests, you continued to shadow her every move.
As fate would have it, a soccer ball came hurtling towards you, but time seemed to slow to a crawl, freezing the moment in suspension. The ball hung in mid-air as if a higher power granted you an eternity to reconsider your actions. Eventually, the ball grazed your cheek, snapping you back to reality. Aika turned around, her expression shifting from annoyance to small concern. "Um... hey? Are you alright?" she inquired, approaching you with a sigh.
"See what happens when you refuse to leave me alone?" she chastised, hands on her hips and brows furrowed. "Now maybe you'll keep your distance," she added, turning away with a pout and walking off. You stood there, staring at the ball for a long moment, contemplating her words.
"Yeah... you're right... I think... I'll do that," you murmured to yourself, finally understanding the impact of your actions.
