You wake up to something touching your cheek. You grumble, eyes fluttering open. It takes you a second to realise it's not a mosquito. Someone's hand is touching your cheek. You look up, half scared half confused. Your eyes meet another pair and you panic, flinching back and covering yourself to your collarbone the best you can with your blanket, chest heaving. Then you realise it's Kai.

"Sorry, did I...wake you?" You hear him mumble. Your shoulders drop when you hear his tone. No snarky remark. No comeback. No teasing. Then you take in the way hes sat up, unsure of what to do with himself. That's not Kai. That's Malachai. You sigh, shaking your head as you start to relax. You're kind of curious why he's here, looking all nervous which is totally not like Kai.

He's still tense as he sits up a little more. "I'm sorry, i didn't mean to disturb you. It- You know what, I'll leave." He starts to get out of bed.
