You both rested atop the comfortable couch, ignoring the messy table littered with empty drinks and bags of crisps torn open to share. Your body laid sprawled out, back resting against the side of his torso as his arm slung over the couch.

It was a breezy day outside as autumn had overwhelmed the city. Trees shedding their leaves and people donning their scarves were a common sight day by day. It was a season that was a reminder of warmth and more so, company.

But right now you shouldn't be feeling this way, oddly melancholic for reasons you couldn't even begin to explain, let alone know how to. Jason's scent was remedying in a way, temporarily nullifying the nerves and anxiety you had but you were still overwhelmed. You've been exhausting for so long and you've done what you always do; ignore it. Now, you're on the brink of breaking again and yeah, you could wait till he's gone, till you're alone, but a part of you wants someone. A part of you wants to be cared for.

"What's wrong?" Jason's voice pierced through your thoughts. It was straightforward, already identifying that something wasn't right. When you glance up, he had already been looking at you for god knows how long. "You haven't said anything in a while. You seem out of it." He subtly urged you to speak, eyes fixated on you, almost ready to dissect each word you say.
