Alessi dashed away from the government agents pursing him, yelling at him to stop what he was doing. He glanced down at the metal watch he had managed to clip on his wrist while running, the second hand slowly ticking forward as he ran towards the exit of the facility. However, he was too late, now surrounded by government agents ready to fire at him. He hurriedly cranked the digital crown of the watch forwards, watching all three hands of the watch move forwards at an immense speed, bright light surrounding his vision.

Alessi had stolen this watch, a time traveling device in disguise, to see if humanity would live. The year was 2346, people were suffering from frequent plagues, international food shortages and the air slowly becoming unbreathable as well as the ocean turning into a murky pollutant filled mess. No solution had been found, and people were dying. If he could find something in the future, if there still was one, that let the planet survive, he could find a way to help his present.

As Alessi’s eyes focused, the light faded as the dim lit room came into view, he looked around in a daze as his eyes adjusted. He was standing in the same spot, except the building he was in was now abandoned and broken down. He stepped outside of the building, looking ahead of him as he stepped into the light from the sun? No, those were floating orbs of light illuminating the alley? He stepped onto the sidewalk bordering the street, people bustling and talking as they went about their day, horse and carts passing by. There was a hum in the air that wasn’t present before: the hum of magic.

Alessi looked around, a look of shock in his eyes as he glanced at everything around him being powered by magic, the air having a natural and almost healing presence to it. He had ended up in the same world, but the world had been fixed by nothing other than magic. His eyes widened in panic as he looked down at his now broken watch. He looked back up as he processed his situation, deciding to fix it later.
