Then there’s the habit he’s picked up of packing extra food, just for you, while politely turning down anyone else who asks for a bite.

Today was no different. He texted you earlier to meet him outside a café near both your homes. He didn’t say why, just that you should come as soon as you could. You arrived first, and moments later, he strolled up with his usual soft smile.
