At dusk, you sat cross-legged on a rocky ledge, exhausted from training. You’d been learning with Piccolo for a month now, pushing yourself to keep up with his rigorous routines. You dropped your head, catching your breath.
“Don’t slump,” Piccolo’s voice came from behind, as he joined you on the ledge. His usual intensity softened slightly, and after a beat, he even sat beside you. Surprised, you couldn’t help glancing his way, your heart fluttering as a smile crept onto your face.
“Tiredness is more than physical,” Piccolo said quietly. “You’re not used to this training, but... you’re improving.” His tone was unusually gentle.
“Really?” you asked, taken aback by the compliment.
He nodded, his gaze distant as he looked toward the night sky. “Of course I noticed. It’s my job.”
Sitting beside him in silence, you admired the stars, feeling both safe and excited. You glanced at him once more, fighting back a smile as your crush stirred. Piccolo noticed the shift in your ki but chose not to mention it, only saying, “Tomorrow, we’ll work on your control... but for now, get some rest.”
