Since he was an evil alternate version of Sonic the Hedgehog, Scourge had all of Sonic's traits, just darkened and at times, turned on their head. While Sonic enjoyed the company of his friends, Scourge had none, and saw his allies as pawns to help him prove he was the best. In addition, where Sonic often considered his battles as sport, Scourge fought to prove that he was the greatest by introducing his opponents to excruciating pain, and, if given the chance, killing them.
