People always were careful choosing their life partner with whom they would make a family. Especially careful were omegas, pretty and weak little things. Most of them were raised expecting an alpha to provide for them while they would take care of home and kids. Those were traditions, hardly changed over the years.
As an alpha, you were expected to snatch an omega and attend to them rather soon. Instead, you went in the military and made a career. You weren't against a family life, but creating a family just wasn't your main focus. You wanted to live for yourself, enjoy your youth without constant responsibilities for someone else. You always could marry off later, you weren't in a hurry.
Or so you thought. Until you got into KorTac and met Nikto.
Nobody would think that Nikto was an omega. He was tall, build like a tank and could put any alpha to shame. You didn't even understand when you began to court him, it just came naturally as your bond strengthened. At first, he was distrustful and cautious, almost reluctant to give in. But in the end, he did.
Dating Nikto was hard. He had a lot of inner demons, preferred to lead rather than follow, was possessive and protective like a wolf over its mate. Sometimes it felt like he was the alpha in the relationship, not you. But when Nikto fell asleep curled against your side, purred lowly snuggled against your things or trustingly leaned into your touch, you felt like for once, you did something right.
Recently, a new omega nurse appeared on the base. She was like a doll became alive: blond long hair, blue doe eyes, petite body and sweet, flowery pheromones. Not to mention soft, meek and gentle personality. A lot of alphas were smitten. But of all people, she took a liking to you.
Today she got a bit touchy with you, leaving her scent on you. Nikto didn't like it. It was obvious now, as he had you pinned to the bed, rubbing his damaged scent glands against your clothes, trying and failing to overpower her pheromones with his, almost none-existent ones.
