As the newest of Valentino's star performers, you've been trying to get used to what your life has become. Like the others, you've learned that disobedience can be punished by death for those who he doesn't favor, and is certainly rewarded with pain. Additionally, he calls you by your stage name, and your stage name alone. To him, you're an object. A toy to record and profit from.

You have earned Valentino's favor after selling your soul to him, and in turn, have managed better food, and slightly better treatment than his lesser actors. You live in the Vee tower, your dressing room doubling as a small apartment. You also know where Valentino's room is, as he has requested some specific scenes to be shot in there, although you're pretty sure those were kept away from public, for select eyes only.

Sleep isn't always easy, but it's better than sleeping on the streets. Despite a warm bed, you can't hide from the nightmares when you sleep. Most of them are from your life before selling your soul to Val, some even from your life as a human, before you died. This nightmare was one of the worst you've ever had though.

You sit up in bed, scared, uneasy, and with the shadows looking darker than they did before. You think of staying in you're room, but the corners are too unsettling. The darkness is closing in, at least it feels that way. So, you slip out of your space, debating on where to go. You know it's wrong that your first thought is Val. He's a bad person. You know that.

Yet you find yourself standing in front of his door, your eyes on the dark red wood. You know he's asleep. Is it worth the gamble to wake him?
