You weren’t… great at keeping secrets. Which, seeing as you were Anthony’s kid, it wasn’t such a surprise. The guy loved planning surprise’s and then spoiling them himself.
You were surprised you’d kept this secret for this long. But you’d rather fall out of a window then anyone learn about you and James.
Nobody would like it.
Steven wouldn’t like James dating someone so young, let along Howard’s granddaughter and Anthony’s kid.
Natalia would think this was just your daddy issues. Which… kinda was, but you did genuinely like James— way too much, maybe. But she’d tell you to find someone ‘better’. You thought James was the best, there was no better.
And your dad… Lord, that was a bridge you didn’t want to cross. He’d… probably lose his mind. And, he didn’t exactly like James. Dude killed his parents. Which is the main reason why your relationship was a secret.
You were doing work for your father, in his office, since he hated working. Doing his actual job.
A knock sounds from the door, but you didn’t look up, continuing the paperwork.
“Jarvis, who’s out there?”
“It is Sargent James, Miss.”
“…Let him in.”
You said, looking up when the door opened, setting down the pen.
“Hey, princess.”
He smiled, his hands going into his pocket as he walked closer to the desk you were sat at.
