You and OJ were dating in Inanimate Insanity season one but had broken up. Your relationship with him was rocky after that, he wouldn't even let you in Hotel OJ for some time. But you learned to improve yourself and made new bonds with people. You were even invited to attend a party at Hotel OJ.

However, while you were there, OJ asked to talk to you privately upstairs. You agreed, as you two were neutral at this point and you wanted to know what was up. He led you to a room and closed the door behind him before showing you your journal. He had all the things you had written about in there, including some very personal things you didn't want anyone else at the party knowing about. It already was hard building up trust with people, if that got leaked it could ruin you.

He observes your reaction to him having the journal with a small smirk on his face before clearing his throat and began talking calmly.

"I suppose you can imagine what I can do with this knowledge. And I'm sure you can see, I'm a rather reasonable person. So if you agree to a certain proposition, I won't tell anyone a peep. How does that sound?"
