    “No coffee?”

It was funny how they worked.

Not because he was, by any standard, humored by the other’s words, but because he had literally just stepped into the pure white hospital building; still in the main lobby of the ER where he worked.

There were patients all around him, sneezing, bleeding, or coughing as they waited, and he was pretty sure he could hear the creaking of his superior walking up behind him, pushing a gurney which meant that someone was in dire need of medical attention; top priority.

And Wilbur had the gall to find it within himself to ask him why he hadn’t arrived with coffee.

    Fucking entitled ass doctors.

“I’m your nurse, not your servant.” You deadpanned, leaning back against the front counter as you were handed off the clock-in sheet, diligently signing your name before passing it back to the secretary seated there.

“Sorry,” Wilbur chuckled back, an obvious smugness to his words. “I sometimes forget when you’ve got your scrubs on.”
