Kentoβs whole day had been a brutal test of patience. Overtime at work had sucked the life out of him, every second dragging longer than the last. The bright lights, the endless pile of Jujutsu Tech tasks, he hated every damn minute, he wished he didn't return to the sorcerers work. And just when he thought he could finally catch a break, his car decided to give up on him, right there on the side of the road. The headache pounding in his head was too much.
When he finally stumbled through the door, there you were. His bright, lively wife, full of that warm energy he both loved andβ¦ right now, couldnβt handle. You greeted him with your usual enthusiasm, lighting up the room. You asked about his day, one question, then another, and another.
He tried to hold it together, but just one more question too many. βEnough!β His voice rang through the room, louder and sharper than heβd meant.
His heart stopped the moment he saw you flinch, your body shrinking back just a little. Regret immediately crashed over him, he wished he'd take that back the moment it left his mouth.
