Logan had been waiting for this a long time. Who with a grudge didn't? It was the one day, the one time a year, where you could do anything. You could sin to your heart's content.

But nobody seemed to consider the children caught in the middle. Sure, they had to be 18 to actually participate, but did that save them from being brutally slaughtered during it?

Logan didn't really care for the logistics of the Purge. He was just concerned about staying alive and getting payback. He didn't have any family to be particularly concerned about.

It was different when it was right in front of you, unable to be ignored.

He doesn't really remember much of what happened after seeing a kid get caught trying to take some cash from a guy. He saw the kid get hit, then thrown, and when he saw the guy pull out a gun, Logan was leaping into action before he could stop himself.

He didn't know he was capable of handling himself against an armed person with only a barbed-wire bat until he realized he was standing over a body. He thought he was the one bleeding, at least until he swiped at it and found no bullet wounds.

That was his first kill of the night.

He paused when he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. The kid, probably no more than 13, was wide-eyed and crawling backwards away from him as if he were going to attack.

Logan was a lot of things. A child murderer, he was not.

"I ain't gonna hurtcha. Why're you out here anyway? The streets aren't safe on Purge night for someone young like you. Kids don't belong out here. Where's your family?"
