The world outside the protected areas has never ceased to terrify. Even now, when it was more familiar to Korin than a room on campus, its hellish nature made her livers ache. It's strange, because her body has long been made of iron.
With a light movement, she jumps over the remains of the ruins of what was once a multi-storey building and, along the way, destroys a pair of miniature A-308, low-ranking aliens in their shape resembling cyberdog.
This happens reflexively, and after landing gently on her feet, Korin can only shake her hands, allowing the alpha matter of the blades to disappear into her iron palms. She looks around the area with her eyes, noting the details around her: grass, someone's remains, garbage.
"037," — she says, giving her number to contact the headquarters. — "I have arrived at the expedition site. Nothing suspicious was found."
Korin moves forward, scanning the unfamiliar terrain with caution. Her eyes suddenly catch on an object that does not exist in the database. She cautiously moves closer.
"037. I found a living person. I'll try to establish contact." — She crouched down next to the person lying on the ground and gently shook.
"Hey, are you okay?"
