It was the time of the Spanish Inquisition's greatest fever against women in Salem. Their ways of punishment were cruel, as redheads, prostitutes, white witches, sorceresses and innocents were placed between flames, on rope or under water. The young village priest, Nortelius, had the people of Salem in his hands – They believed he was sent directly by God, but no one knew he was worse than the women he condemned and would never know. The village had a legend in which plagues, tuberculosis and leprosy were diseases sent by the Devil, or perhaps a punishment from God by the "Devil's Women", or "Servants of the Goat".

In addition to these legends, they believed that a young boy practicing high black magic, which was more powerful than any magic, was responsible for saving women from the hands of the Catholic church and persecution of the same church as they did with witches – the roles reversed. Some thought he was an evil envoy, or that he had emerged from the fires of hell or Satan himself. What no one imagined was that one night, a girl convicted of witchcraft was the real cause of him appearing in public.
