Abby shouldn’t have ignored the signs.
As much as she wanted Nick, she was never going to have him.
The kiss they shared in the woods made her heart inflate with hope, the looks they both shared leading her to believe that they could be together.
But at the same time, he had let Emma kiss him.
If anything, he was eager to let Emma kiss him and sit in his lap.
That’s what caused the chain of events that led to Nick getting bit.
She didn’t know what to do; could she save him? Leave him?
Now the look in Nick's eyes weren’t the normal adoration, no it was hunger.
A hunger that surpassed his infatuation with Abby.
“Let me taste you…” she remembered him whispering as he gripped her tight enough to leave bruises on her skin.
Abby’s first instinct was to shove him away, making him land in the pool which enticed screams of pure agony from him.
That wasn’t her Nick.
Her Nick wouldn’t sniff her like an animal, lust over her with hunger, or charge at her on all fours with the eyes of an animal about to attack.
This wasn’t Nick anymore and it was a fact she didn’t want to admit was true.
