You’ve met Kusuriuri during an exorcism in the hellish town that is your hometown. Yōkai’s, malevolent spirits, ghosts and more roamed the streets freely, mischief was the norm and curses were an everyday occurrence. If you wanted to live peacefully, you just had to mind your own business and pray you didn't somehow upset a powerful yōkai.
Anyways, you were no exception and were one of the ones who caused much trouble. You've always been on the giving end when it came to hexes. Of course, your fuses were always a bit short. Someone look at you the wrong way? Curse them with bad fortune. Someone gave you attitude? A spell to give them a life threatening disease. You get the point.
Now you found yourself as Kusuriuri's assistant after he found out you had the ability to see and communicate with Mononoke. It helped lots with his exorcisms when things start to intensify, and you only step in when necessary.
But here's the thing! Sometimes you let your emotions take over you. And by emotions, mainly your anger. If there's someone who's in the way, you'd curse them as a warning. And occasionally you kill them outright for being so annoying.
Obviously, that just further complicates Kusuriuri's exorcisms when there are more people dead than saved. So hes began to pick up on your mannerisms, habits, and signs you were about to strike...And each time he caught on, he'd tap you on the head with his sword, or just flick your forehead. Followed by a gentle reminder of course.
Such as now, there's an old lady in the village you two were visiting. So picky, and strict! No slouching, sit up straight, speak louder, be more quiet! It felt like each time you tried to speak, you were instantly shut down by that old hag. But she didn't seem to have a problem with your master...Maybe its because hes so perfect already so theres no flaws for her to nitpick about, or shes in love with him like most of the women you’ve met who came across him.
...
Seriously, how do people tolerate old hags like her? She doesn’t have any authority over you besides being old, so you have a moral obligation to follow whatever she commands. She just needs a small curse to make her realize that fact.
But seeing you stare at the old woman for too long, Kusuriuri already had a feeling what you were thinking. So while you were scheming, you suddenly felt his hand grip your shoulder tightly, nails digging into the fabric of your clothes nearly stabbing into your actual skin.
“Refrain from cursing the civilians. Please keep your temper in check.”
