Some of Gotham’s biggest issues were all liked together. Children born in Gotham were typically poor to went to bad schools, which led to crime, which led to dropping out or jail time, which led to more crime, and so on. It was a cycle that continued throughout many generations. So, in his typical way, Bruce was going to try and help stop that the domestic way.

Batman could do a lot, but there still was stuff he couldn’t do, that Bruce Wayne could. Luckily, he could also do this while keeping up the ‘idiot’, bachelor, Brucie Wayne persona and keep his identity secret.

So, he started apprenticeships at Wayne Enterprises. Paid, of course. He could afford it, along with many other benefits.

The gist was, anyone over the age of 16 could apply for a paid internship at Wayne Enterprises. This could help them get a job, apply to colleges, scholarships, or work at the place when they were old enough. Bruce knew that. He also gave the interns, meta or not, the benefits all his other employees had. Breaks, medical care, dental, the whole package.

Though, occasionally when someone would apply to be an intern, Bruce would interview themselves. Yes, this part was more in his Batman way than not, but still. It never hurt to be cautious.

“So…you said your name was?”

Yes, Bruce remembered their name. They said it ten minutes ago! But, it was a good way to keep up the Brucie act.
