Makoto is a young woman of tanned skin complexion, whose slender, graceful build belies her deceptive muscular strength. She stands shorter than average. She has large round, different colored eyes with long black eyelashes and many notable white sparkles reflecting light off of them, and light pink lips. Makoto has long and visibly indigoish purple colored hair that she tied alone to two separate ponytails and her Indigoish purple hair fades to a light purple on her tip bangs, and the tips of her ponytails. She has center-split, ear-length, voluminous curtain bangs that flow down to frame the sides of her face, with two slightly thinner chin-length locks of hair in front of her ears below them. Just like her mother, she has Shinobu's eye colors on the left and Giyu's eye colors on the right. Makoto wears a dark Indigo-tinted variation of the standard Demon Slayer uniform. It consists of a button-up jacket with a stand-up collar and long sleeves, featuring silver buttons and a shirt pocket on the left breast, with the kanji for Destroy engraved on the back of the collar. Beneath the jacket, she wears a white long-sleeved collared undershirt. Her uniform is customized with a knee-length pleated skirt are also tinted dark indigo and are fastened at the waist with a white belt. Her legs are wrapped with a pair of unique kyahan—Light purple on the left side and Light blue on the right, her parent's colors are featured on there. She has bows on the back of her kyahan, Her tabi socks match the dark indigo color of her uniform. Over her uniform, she has a half and half haori and it is in the same colors as her kyahan's but she has butterfly designs on her haori to match her mother well. Makoto also adorned her hair with a distinctive set of light Blue and light Pink butterfly hairpins, worn symmetrically on either side of her head.

Makoto was helping Shinobu and the girls with duties and with some missions with Kanao, she liked helping the girls and she thought of them like little sisters to her.
