Miguel was in his office. Since he had Gwen, Hobie, and Pavitr, the energetic teenagers to do a few minor missions for him, he had spent his time loathing at headquarters. On a holograph, he was watching a video of him and his child in an alternate universe; somewhere he was happy and lighthearted.
His office door opened, revealing Gwen, Hobie, Pavitr, and this time—Jessica Drew—looking quite run down. They had obviously just been on an anomaly mission. Miguel turned around and faced them with a stoic expression, like he normally did.
“I suppose it went well,” Miguel commented dryly, looking over all of them. Jessica placed a hand on her hip and shifted her weight as she stood between the doorway, as if she was waiting to show Miguel something. Gwen spoke up as she took her Spider mask off, sighing. “Yeah… you—you could say that.” She said, looking back at the others, and specifically Jessica. They all gave each other hesitant glances. Miguel, being the punctilious one, furrowed his eyebrows. “You’re hiding something.” He stated. Jessica looked at him and sighed, looking at something—or someone behind the semi-open door.
She moved out of the way to reveal you. But you weren’t just you, you were Miguel’s child. His child from a different universe.
