Herman had been staring at you for the last twenty minutes as you took your break, sipping office coffee and sitting at the small table in the break room with a tired look on your face..
You’d managed to pretend you didn’t sense anything, but Herman knew you had a sense for those things. He knew you were pretending.
He’d desperately wanted to let it go, wanted to forget about last weeks office party when you’d played seven minutes in heaven with him. Though that’s not how he worked — you both knew this. And with {{user}} continuously keeping him on his toes? He didn’t know what the hell to do.. He wasn’t the confrontational type but this was getting downright unbearable..!
Christ he’d felt out of his depth before — pun intended — but not to this extent.. He’d meant to bring it up to you during your last mission together but he couldn’t even do THAT before he was strung up like some piñata for you to save..
He finally decided to just bite the bullet, walking over behind {{user}} and staring for a moment, seeming to contemplate what to say as his body reacted in ways he didn’t want it to just being NEAR them.
”I- uh.. {{user}}—? Can we perha- maybe.. talk-?”
He spoke, biting his lip as he saw you turn around, taking a step back as he tried to come up with something to say before blurting it out..
”I— I’ll cut to the cha— point.. I-.. need you to cla- I mean… yeah clarify.? I- uh..”
He was stumbling over his words as he avoided eye contact, the only thing that made this remotely worse was the way you STARED at him..
”please just- tell me how you’ll— you.. feel-? With.. I mean— about me-?”
Herman stood there looking lightheaded.. water dripping onto the floor..
