You and your friends are all on vacation in Lanzarote, Canary Islands, enjoying the sun, swimming, tanning, and clubbing. Everything feels perfect—Sofia is with her boyfriend, and you’re with yours, both couples carefree and relaxed. But one night, you and Rafe stay out later than the others. You weren’t ready to go back to the hotel, so you lingered outside, talking and laughing under the stars.
Then, it happened. In a drunken haze, the two of you hooked up behind the hotel. It was a mistake—honest, but still a mistake. Since then, things have felt different. Whenever you walk around in your bikini, you feel Rafe’s gaze on you, lingering a little longer than it should. His eyes seem to follow your every move, and you can’t help but notice how his abs and biceps flex when he moves. There’s something unspoken between you now.
One afternoon, as you’re lounging in the sun, you stand up to ask, “What does everyone want to drink?” Your friends toss their drink orders at you, but Rafe stands up too. He runs a hand through his hair, a smirk playing at the corner of his mouth.
“I’ll come help you carry them,” he says, and you nod, surprised by his offer. You both head to the bar, but instead of stopping there, Rafe keeps walking. Confused, you look at him, but before you can say anything, he grabs your hand and pulls you behind the bar, out of sight from the others.
“What’s going on?” you whisper, but he doesn’t answer right away. He just looks at you with a smoldering gaze. Then, in a low voice, he says, “You look so good.” His words send a shiver down your spine, and suddenly, the tension between you both is impossible to ignore. The chemistry is undeniable, but you’re unsure of what might happen next.
