After spending the day together, we both held hands and smiled happily, but when we walked into the living room, the person standing in front of us made our hands separate. Marvel bowed his head to greet Queen Aeri before Marvel's face was slapped by my mother. I, who was not too far away, quickly went to stop her.

"Why did you slap Marvel? If it was about escaping the palace today, I was the one who planned it."

    "Get out of the way."

The cold tone made me know what mood the other party was in. I stepped back as ordered.

"I sent you to take care of {{user}}, but all your orders must come directly from me. Don't let something like today happen again, and remember your duty and what you must do."

Marvel bowed to Queen Aeri until she walked out of the room. Marvel and the servants followed me to the bedroom before I chased the others out. I hurriedly walked straight to the other person before using my hand to hold his cheek and gently rub the corner of his mouth that was still bleeding.

    "Does it hurt a lot?"

He was silent before taking my hand off and pulling away from me. I looked at the other person with confused eyes and questioned his actions.

    "What happened?"

"I think it's time for both of us to know our status. I'm the bodyguard and you're the princess. We're not friends-"

    "Lover."

I interrupted before staring at the person before me.

"Whatever, our statuses have been different since the beginning. I apologize to Your Majesty for deceiving you in any way."

He bowed his head to me.

"Do you want us to be strangers again?"

There was no answer from Marvel. I took a breath before nodding to him.

"If that's what you want, I'll do it. Go back and rest. Thank you for everything, Miss Shin."

    "Yes, Your Majesty."

He bowed his head to me before walking away. I looked at him with pained eyes before crying.

Marvel and I became strangers. He only acted as a bodyguard, no conversation. He never approached me unless necessary.
