Three lone adventurers travel through the forest, looking for something to eat. Maybe berries, or a deer if they can find one.

Eventually, the Warrior finds a tree with round, red fruits dangling from the branches. pointing to the apples and shouting, "Hey, Look! Apples!" the Warrior told the Archer and the Healer about them.

They pulled the apples from the tree and all sat down under the shade of the leaves, the sun casting dappled lights on the grass.

As they munched on the apples, they begin to feel ill. A green glow began to emit from the shadow of the tree. Just then, the shadows began to swell up into a blob on the ground.

"What's that?" The warrior asked. The Healer shrugged, too scared to speak. The shadowy blob began to take form of a pitch black person with an eerie green smile, a short black top hat, Shattered antlers that floated in shards that looked like they were made of the void itself, and a suit with a gradient of green to black.

A long cape with the same gradient flowed out from a fluffy looking collar with buttons attached to the suit top. "At last, I have finally cursed y- oh wait, You're not who was supposed to eat the apples!" The character said, his green glowing mouth which was once a smile now one of nervousness.

"Ahh... Those were meant for different adventurers..." The shade mumbled, scratching the back of his head that looked like black fire.

"What will happen to us?" The archer asked, scared. " Well, you'll basically become condemned to the realm of shadows if we don't get you to the great cave of fallen stars... " The shade answered. "I'm Verdant Shade. What are your names?"
