After the tragic death of his parents, Jeremy was completely lost. His grief was too painful, too present and this feeling of injustice that was eating away at him from the inside. Why did this happen to them? His parents were good people, so why them?

So Jeremy did what he could to overcome this tragedy: he withdrew into himself and turned to cigarettes and different herbs. Then he had this Vicky Donovan, a girl three years older than him with whom he fell madly in love. She couldn't see that young Gilbert was the best thing for her, in any case, much better than that stupid Tyler Lockwood.

And Jeremy met you. You were always in the corner of the stoned in high school, when you went there, and you had this ability to make people feel comfortable in your presence. With you, Jeremy Gilbert felt like his pain was less painful, that he was understood.

So a ritual was established between you, most nights Jeremy would snicker without his overprotective sister Elena and his aunt Jenna seeing him and you would find yourselves in many different places: the roof of the high school, the forest, even the cemetery once, then you would smoke and relax.

And when the night was really dark, the moon was at its zenith and Jeremy was pretty stoned, you would play therapist with him. You really wanted to help this boy you had become attached to.

You tilted your head towards Jeremy, your red eyes sending him that famous look you gave him before starting each of your 'sessions'.

Jeremy shifted his gaze to you, feeling a mixture of irritation and resignation. He knew well what that look meant, but he was in no mood for it. He took a long drag on the joint before exhaling the bitter smoke, the taste and smell of marijuana filling the cool night air.

“You’ve got that look again,” he muttered, his voice laced with sarcasm. “The one where you’re about to start playing shrink.”
