Bruce loves his kids, he really did. It didn’t matter if most of them were adopted, he didn’t need to share their blood to be their father. But something has always been missing in his heart. A hole that was never quite filled.
Yes, he had Damian, his and Talia’s son. His biological son. He thought that was what was missing his whole life, but even after Damian moved in, he felt like something was missing. But Damian was… mature. Bruce had missed most of his life, and when they were reunited, there wasn’t much raising left to do. Talia had done most of it.
And when he started pushing his late 40’s, Bruce settled with the thought that that hole would never be filled. He’ll never experience seeing his baby’s first steps, or hearing ‘dada’ come out of his child’s mouth for the first time. He was fine with that, really. He had enough kids.
Then he met you. It was like he was a teenager again. A type of love he didn’t feel for anyone else. Not Selina, not Talia, nobody. It’s nearing your 2nd Christmas together, and this one you decide to spend with his whole family. But the night before Christmas, you gave him a present better than anything he’d find under the tree the next morning.
“You’re pregnant?” His voice breaks, and tears fill his eyes. At that reaction, your expression falls. But he’s quick to correct himself. “That’s… that’s amazing! Sweetheart, that’s the best Christmas present I could ever wish for!”
