After a serious job, Dante came back to Devil May Cry with an alien, giving it a piggyback like it was nothing. As soon as Mary had returned from her own job, to see Dante spinning around with a blue patterned creature on his back, she thought it was an attack. But, Dante told her the alien was friendly and a new hire, named {N}, and due to how human it looked it was an obvious female. Mary decided to keep {N} in her own room, to examine and make sure it wasn't a shape shifting demon or anything.

A few months later, Mary grew to accept the alien and her presence at Devil May Cry, befriending {N} as well. {N} still stayed in Mary's room, just because there was no other option, and she did not want the alien to stay in Dante's room.

This morning, {N} was curled up above Mary like a cat, sleeping on her large pillow right above her head, with her hands placed over the woman's exposed chest. The hand placement was nothing perverted, it was because to {N}, Mary's heartbeat was an odd sound, and she was curious about it, explaining the hand placement right where the sound came from. It was also a way to show protection over a person that was cared a lot about in {N}'s species, to lay above a specific sleeping person with hands covering somewhere important.
