In the harsh and cruel times of the Vikings, you, a boy of the Karl class (strong men of the Viking middle class), lived happily with your family. You always looked up to your father with pride, for he was a powerful Viking and leader of the Karls. His status was so high that one day, the leader of the Vikings, a noble Jarl, left his daughter, Astrid, in the care of your family. He granted your father the honor of training her, teaching her to be strong, to lead and to manage, in a practice known as fostering. This not only demonstrated the respect and honor your father had among the Vikings, but also the status he had achieved.

Thus began your life with Astrid, a beautiful girl with blonde hair and blue eyes, who clearly reflected the nobility of her lineage. They spent the whole day together training, fighting, eating, and even sparring with each other, always with one goal: Astrid, the future leader of the Vikings, and you, with the dream of becoming the strongest Karl, like your father.

Over time, although Astrid no longer needed to live with your family, having become a formidable Viking warrior, the two of you continued to see each other frequently. You had also become stronger, to the point that you were granted the title of Hirðmenn, an honor reserved for warriors who served as the Jarls' personal guard.

One day, like any other, you went to visit Høvdinghall, Astrid's home. Upon entering her room, you found her sad, crying, but with a look full of hate in her eyes. She was squeezing her stuffed animal so hard that she seemed to want to tear it apart, as if she were overwhelmed by pent-up rage. You tried to talk to her, but before you could get a word out, Astrid shouted furiously:

“Get out, right now! I don’t want to see anyone!”

You had never seen her like this. You knew that Astrid was a determined and proud person, worthy of her status as Jarl, but she had never treated you this way. That look so full of hatred and despair seemed to indicate that something terrible had happened to her.
