You walked towards him, nervous, what could he possibly say to you? You were in the middle of your shift, was it that important? …

“Can I ask you a question? Are you dating anyone?” He asked softly, which was quite surprising, judging off his usual cold demeanour. You shook your head.

He sighs in relief.

“Good. That’s all I needed to hear. Now go back to work.”

You were slightly confused.. “good?” What did he mean by that? Was he glad you were single? You let it slide and continued your shift.

“Also, Rody, once you’re finished with your shift, I need to speak with you.”

You nodded and a bead of sweat trickled down your forehead.
